Mens League Report  - 3 May

Woodthorpe men have pulled themselves clear of the relegation places in division 2, with a close fought home win against second placed Grantham. Gary Bearman and Alex Henderson were Woodthorpe’s top couple with 21 games, although Jon Quinn and Paul White of Grantham were unbeaten with 23 games. Woodthorpe will now have a chance of overhauling Grantham, if they beat Lady Bay in their last match by a big score.

Mapperley Park ‘A’ beat second placed Woodthorpe ‘A’, thanks to a dominant performance from Will Yandel and Nick Broadhurst with 29 games. Mapperley Park could still avoid relegation if they beat Mansfield in their last match, and Burton Joyce lose to Mansfield.

Sutton in Ashfield lost heavily at Caunton in their last match in division 4A, to give the only promotion spot to West Bridgford ‘A’ on games difference. Alan Morton and Arthur Finch were the top couple with 27 games, with Bob Maskill and Chris Mansfield winning 26 games.

Mansfield ‘A’ maintained their unbeaten run in division 5A, with an away win against Burton Joyce ‘A’, and move into second place behind David Lloyd West Bridgford ‘A’, who have completed their fixtures.
