Men’s Winter League
Mapperley Park’s hopes of winning the men’s division 1 title were finally extinguished at the hands of West Bridgford, who won by the narrowest of margins, to hand the title to Lady Bay, leaving Mapperley Park and West Bridgford second and third respectively. The father and son pairing of Peter and Matt Whitehead won 21 games which was matched by Mapperley Park’s Will Yandell and Richard Mclullich.
Mansfield had a close win against Grantham in division 2, which puts them in fourth place, with Grantham safe from relegation in fifth place. Niral Nana and Liam Wright were the top couple with a match winning 28 games.
Burton Joyce ‘A’ completed their fixtures in division 5A, with a good away win against Mansfield ‘B’, to move to the top of the table, which in turn ensures that Mansfield are relegated. Jonathon Ankers and Paul Sulley were the top couple with 24 games.
Bingham have secured the division 6B title with one match remaining, following an away win against third placed Newark, to remain unbeaten. The other promotion place will be between Newark and Magdala ‘D’, who both have one match remaining
