Men’s 21st May
Magdala eased their relegation worries slightly, in the men’s first division, with a comfortable home win against fellow strugglers Mapperley Park, and moves them up to fourth place, leaving Mapperley Park’s survival looking decidedly bleak. Alex Stretton and Tony Mellors were the top couple with 27 games, backed up by Peter Kirton and Russell Blenkinsop with 25 games.
David Lloyd West Bridgford sealed promotion back to division 1, with an away win against an under strength Mansfield team. Todd and Neal Johnson won 29 games, which was matched by Rob Gough and Ross Stockley.
Magdala ‘A’ moved up to second place in division 3, following a comprehensive away win against Nottingham Castle ‘A’, where all three couples made significant contributions.
The Park confirmed the division 4A title, with a very close away win at second placed Attenborough, where the home teams first pair of Dan Austerfield and Alan Hewitt were the top couple with 21 games. Caunton moved up to third place with a home win against Sutton in Ashfield, where Bob Maskill and James Burke were the top couple with 26 games.
