Ladies Winter League
West Bridgford ladies started their division 1 title defence, with a good away win at Musters, thanks mainly to a dominant performance from team captain Kathryn Hales and Laura Cooper, winning 35 games and only conceding 1.
Nottingham Castle won a close fought home match in division 2, against Magdala ‘A’, where Dawn Cartledge and Jean Ashcroft were the top couple with 27 games. The most resistance came from Jo Moran and Sue Clague with 25 games. Mansfield also won a close away match against Magdala ‘A’, where Nicola Coleman and Emily Lazarevic won 24 games. However, the top couple of Margot Kersh and Frances Benson with 26 games were from Magdala. Lady Bay also had a good away win at Caunton, where the junior pairing of Amelia Rajecki and Helena Constantiou were the top couple with 24 games. The most resistance came from Fiona Sanger and Maria Cotton with 21 games.
Burton Joyce move to the top of division 3 following a comprehensive home win against Musters ‘A’. The mother and daughter pairing of Ruth and Commonwealth gold medallist Jocelyn Rae were the top couple winning 34 games, backed up by Gill Lane and Anna Ruddick with 32 games. Woodthorpe ‘A’ made it two out of two wins, following a home win against The Park, to move into second place, where Karen Dames and Linda Cox were the top couple with 31 games.
In division 5B, Wollaton had a comfortable away win at Eastwood, where Tamsin Mason and Yasmin Parratt were the top couple with 30 games, backed up by Taina Mason and Anita Bradley with 24 games. Farnsfield ‘A’ also won away against Newark ‘A’, where Clare Walker and Sarah Atkinson were the top couple with 27 games.
