Sally Beeley from Mansfield Tennis Club, who will be 80 years young at the end of December, has represented Great Britain in the World Super-Seniors Championships held on the clay courts in Umag, Croatia.
Sally competed in the 80yrs+ team event, playing doubles with 84yr old Mary Durrans from Yorkshire. The GM team came away with a silver medal, losing out to the USA team in the Finals. Sally and Mary also got the final in the 80yrs+ individual doubles event, so collected another silver medal and Sally herself was runner–up in the consolation event of the singles individual event.
