Ladies 29th October

Burton Joyce ladies started their division 3 winter league season in style, with a comfortable home win against Keyworth, where Gill Lane and Lorraine Cockell were the top couple with 29 games, but the following week they lost a very close match at Southwell, where Elizabeth Hudson and Catherine Haywood were the home team’s top couple with 23 games. However the top couple in the match were Gill Lane and Lorraine Cockell again with 26 games. Woodthorpe ‘A’ also beat Keyworth, who have started the season slowly. Kate Gie and Karen Wells were the top couple with 28 games.

In division 4, Newark continued their summer form into their home match against David Lloyd West Bridgford ‘A’, and came away with a good win, thanks mainly to the performance of Jane Hendley and Steph Smith with 31 games.

A good team performance saw Burton Joyce ‘A’ dominate the match against Caunton ‘B’ in division 5A, where Anna Ruddick and Caroline Brackenbury won 32 games, with Jo Goddard and Margaret Finch contributing 31 games.

In division 6B, Magdala ‘B’ had a crushing home win against Caunton ‘D’ where Christine Lockwood and Sue Clague were dominant winning 36 games, without conceding a single game. Jane Hall and Janet Wharton also played well, winning 30 games. Southwell ‘A’ have taken an early lead in this division, following comfortable home wins against East Bridgford ‘A’ and Lady Bay ‘C’, where Joan Nix and Jayne Commons were the top couple in both matches, winning 30 and 27 games respectively.
