Road to Wimbledon: Helena’s experience
On the journey down to Wimbledon I was excited to play on grass and feeling not too nervous as it would be my last tennis competition.
I knew it would be challenging but a great experience.
Grass was a new surface for me but after getting used to it I enjoyed competing on it. The tournament was tough but I loved playing against different types of players. Throughout the tournament we were treated like real players by being given name boards, passes and a physio being available. There was a player’s party which was great fun and I also had a tour of the grounds. We got to meet Tim Henman and go round the museum.
I had an amazing experience.
