Ladies Summer League
Magdala had a good home win against third placed David Lloyd Nottingham in the ladies first division, and move into fourth place. Frances Benson and Jenny French were the top couple with 6 sets, backed up by Gina Ofield and Beth Mallalue with 4.5 sets.
West Bridgford ‘A’ took the division 2 title, following a comfortable home win against Woodthorpe. Kathryn Hales and Sue Copestake were the dominant couple winning 6 sets for the loss of only 5 games. Maia Dunn and Yuko Ozaki also contributed 5.5 sets. Musters confirmed second place and promotion with an away win against Woodthorpe ‘A’, where Caroline Milns and Jane Rudge were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 9 games. Burton Joyce completed their matches with an away defeat at Woodthorpe and look certain to be relegated. Wendy Haines and Sue Pannell were the top couple with 5 sets.
Caunton completed their fixtures in division 3, with a close fought home win against Attenborough, to move into third place. Debbie Fenton and Liz Banks were the top couple with 5 sets. Attenborough then won their next match away at Nottingham Castle, to ensure division three tennis next season. Dawn Mumby and Liz Hart were the top couple with 4.5 sets, which was matched by Mandy Scott and Louisa Jordison.
Musters ‘B’ completed their matches in division 4A, with a very close home win against Magdala ‘B’, to avoid relegation. The top couple from Musters were Sally Moore and Bryony Farrar with 4 sets, but the overall top pair were Jane Hall and Christine Lockwood with 6 sets.
