Ladies League Report - 26 April
Mansfield ladies eased their relegation worries in division 1, with a comfortable away win at Woodthorpe, which also ensures relegation for Woodthorpe. The main damage was done with a dominating performance from Ann Brown and Nicola Coleman, with an impressive 32 games. Magdala kept their title hopes alive with a good away win against West Bridgford ‘A’. Jenny French and Jo Moran were the top couple with 26 games. Magdala now play Ilkeston in the title decider.
David Lloyd Nottingham move to the top of division 2 following a comfortable away win against Magdala ‘A’, and Musters move into second place following a much tighter match, also against Magdala ‘A’. Jane Rudge and Lesley Cree were the top couple with 29 games. Magdala retain their division 2 status at the expense of David Lloyd West Bridgford and Woodthorpe ‘A’.
In division 5B, Farnsfield ‘A’ completed their fixtures with an easy win against bottom of the table East Bridgford ‘A’, to move to the top of the table, just ahead of The Park, who have one match remaining. Shelagh Mitchell and Sarah French were the top couple with 26 games. Mansfield ‘A’ finish in third place following a comfortable win against Musters ‘B’, where Jan Hodgetts and Paula Coleman were the top couple with 29 games. Musters must now beat The Park in their final match to have any chance of avoiding relegation.
Lady Bay ‘B’ maintained their unbeaten run with a home win against The Park ‘A’, and move into second place in division 6A, behind Burton Joyce ‘A’. Southwell ‘A’ completed their fixtures in division 6B, with a home win against Sutton in Ashfield ‘A’. Pat Newman and Joan Nix were the top couple with 29 games.
