The season started well, with a 3-2 win against Lancashire, and ended well with a 4-1 win against West of Scotland, both away matches, but our home matches were very disappointing, losing 5-0 to Staffordshire and Yorkshire and 3-2 to Warwickshire.
Obviously the team bonding, while travelling paid huge dividends.
With a few matches still to be played, it looks like we will be relegated to division 3, even with two wins, which is usually enough to stay.
The team players were John Taylor, Gerry Radford, Alan Philpott, Dave Watkins, Jim Stubbs and David Carter ( captain ). Hopefully we will bounce straight back next year, with the arrival of Nick Lodge to strengthen the team, and a new captain.
