Laura Robson has withdrawn from Great Britain’s upcoming Fed Cup tie in Hungary due to an on-going wrist injury. She will be replaced by 22-year-old Jocelyn Rae who received her first Fed Cup call up in 2011, and has won 10 ITF doubles titles.
Judy Murray commented: "While we are obviously going to miss Laura on and off the court in Budapest, it’s a great opportunity for me to bring Joss into the team as a doubles specialist. She has shown her potential winning gold at the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010 and is back to full fitness after a series of injuries."
Robson said: "After consulting with my doctor I have unfortunately been advised that I'll need to rest my wrist for another 2-4 weeks. This will sadly not allow me to play in Fed Cup, which was one of my biggest goals for 2014. We still have such a great team and I plan to be the best supporter ever!"
Jocelyn joins Heather Watson, Johanna Konta and Tara Moore in the GB team. The Fed Cup takes place from 4-9th February, with GB having been drawn against Hungary, Latvia and Romania in the group stages.
