Men’s 28th January

 

The men’s league leaders, Musters, lost their first match of the season to third placed David Lloyd Aspley, where Jamie Praditngam and Pierre Luiggi were the dominant couple winning 28 games. Magdala moved into second place following a home win against Woodthorpe, where Chris Mills and Peter Kirton were the top couple with 23 games.

With one match remaining, Grantham have ensured promotion from division 3, with a close fought away win at second placed Keyworth, where James Drennan and Jon Cummins won 22 games, but the top couple were Clive Parsons and Richard McLoughlin from Keyworth with 25 games.

Attenborough maintained their unbeaten run in division 4A, and move to the top, following an away win against Woodthorpe ‘B’, where Chris Lacey and Richard Bean were the top couple with 25 games. Caunton moved up to third place following a close away win against West Bridgford ‘B’, where Rafe Elliott and Adam Kay were the top couple with 26 games.

In division 4B, Retford had a good away win against second placed Attenborough ‘A’, where John Gazeley and Ian Young won 23 games, which was matched by Tom Bradley and Sam Hughes. Sutton in Ashfield moved up to third place following a home win against Mapperley Park ‘A’, where Nigel Derbyshire and David Cross were the top couple with 22 games.

East Bridgford continued their dominance of division 5A, with a comprehensive home win against Grantham ‘C’, where John Beaumont and Alan Philpott were outstanding with 32 games, backed up by Dave Watkins and Mike Nalder with 29 games. Caunton ‘A’ moved up to third place following an away win against Lady Bay ‘B’, where Bob Maskill and James Burke were the top couple with 26 games.
