Captain's report
We arrived early at Boston Tennis Centre and the weather was fantastic with the first match of the day against the home county Lincolnshire. The match was close all the way through with a tie at 3-3 going into the doubles matches. Unfortunately Lincolnshire managed to win the boys and girls doubles with Nottinghamshire taking the mixed, that left the tie at 5-4 to Lincolnshire in a match that could have gone either way.
The following match was against Leicestershire and again it went to 3-3 after the singles; the girls won the doubles and boys lost, leaving it down to the mixed. After 3 tough sets Leicestershire came out on top leaving the result again at 5-4.
The final match against Northamptonshire saw the same result, with the singles matches tied at 3-3 Notts would eventually lose 5-4.
The day was a great experience for me and the team, every member tried their best, conducted themselves really well and did Notts proud. With a tiny bit more luck we could have quite easily won the whole event.
