Ladies Summer League
Ilkeston ladies kept their hopes of winning the first division title alive with a close fought home win against Lady Bay. Jackie Thompson and Christie Newbold were the top couple with 6 sets, but the match was finally won when Julie Griffiths and Judy Plumb beat Angela Donald and Etiana Whittaker in the last match on court.
Magdala ‘A’ beat David Lloyd West Bridgford to move into second place in division 2, behind David Lloyd Nottingham. Frances Benson and Holly Mellors were the top couple for Magdala, with 5 sets, which was matched by David Lloyd’s first pairing of Rachael Allum and Jasmeet Kaler. Burton Joyce got their first win of the season in a tight match against Southwell. Ruth Rae and Lisa Ostrowsky-Newton were the top couple with 5.5 sets.
Retford look to have secured promotion from division 4A, following an away win at Sutton in Ashfield, and David Lloyd West Bridgford ‘A’ have almost secured promotion from division 4B, following a comfortable away win against East Bridgford ‘A’. Attenborough could also figure in the promotion race as they remain unbeaten following their close away win against Musters ‘A’, where Dawn Mumby and Margaret Scott were the top couple with 6 sets
