Venue
We played at Northampton Kings Park Tennis Centre. It is a nice Club with four indoor courts and four outdoor courts.
Day 1
We faced Warwickshire and Lincolnshire. Both counties were strong and had good depth to their teams. We lost all matches to Lincolnshire but this was a good experience for the team to play against them. Charlie Wood had an excellent match, using the wet weather conditions to his advantage, and managed to pull off an excellent win against Warwick’s number 2. We had to abandon play later in the day due to rain and we resumed matches early Sunday morning to catch up with play.
Day 2
We played against Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Leicester had an excellent team however Kieran O’driscoll – Pablo managed to beat their no 3 in a tight 3rd set match tie break 10-7! We lost all matches to Northampton.
Even though we did not manage to get the results we wanted the team put up a good fight and fought hard in all of our matches. We had excellent singles wins along the way with Charlie and Kieran both beating players higher rated. The Notts boys showed excellent team spirit despite facing stronger counties. Overall it was a good experience for our team and we had a great time over the weekend with some quality tennis to watch.
