On Sunday May 15th 10 – 12noon West Bridgford Tennis Club held their annual Open Day to promote their Club programme and facilities for the Great British Tennis Weekend.
Over the 2 hours we had 48 players attend to join in the various sessions that were on offer for them to try. The club was PACKED out with people wanting the try the game we all LOVE! On the day the seniors had the opportunity to take part in a PULSE RAISING session with our CARDIO KING…….Gareth Billingham for the first 45 minutes, then we had a 45 minute coaching session run by former world ranked coach and doubles specialist Sarah Wright……on the day we also had sessions running for all levels of juniors from TOTS through to 18 year olds, all the courts were full with different tennis activities.
Due to the significant numbers in attendance we had the whole coaching team in to help out, even Nick Shelvey was forced to come back out of retirement to help rally with some of the star juniors in attendance.
It was also great to see Richard Morley put the older Juniors through their paces on the outdoor courts giving them a master class in the optimum contact point….
