The club held one of two annual play tennis events on Saturday 14th May between 9.30am & 1pm giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to try and play tennis for free. Mansfield is one of the few remaining clubs in the county with grass courts and these had just been cut and lined in time for the open morning giving people a taste of grass court play. Two of the courts had mini nets in place offering children the experience of playing on the grass. On the hard courts there were taster sessions of Cardio tennis, a serving session and hoop targets with prizes to be won which always proves to be popular with the children.
A BBQ and homemade cake stall was on offer along with hot and cold drinks to keep everyone’s strength up on the day and the tombola stall proved to be as popular as ever. Despite the weather being sunny although a little bit on the chilly side the attendance was down on previous year’s which was disappointing but for those who did attend they all had an enjoyable experience
