Ladies Winter League – 29 March

 Woodthorpe ladies are finding a win hard to come by, as they went down to West Bridgford ‘A’, which has improved West Bridgford’s chance of survival in division 1, and almost ensured Woodthorpe’s relegation. Sue Alexander and Margarita Lane were the top couple with 27 games, and Sue Copestake with Claire Poole chipped in with 21 games.

The division 2 leaders Grantham crashed to a heavy defeat at Musters, who move into third place. Sarah Dexter and Mary Joyner were the top couple with 30 games, and Caroline Milns and Jane Rudge added another 28 games. David Lloyd West Bridgford won their first match of the season with a home win against Magdala ‘A’, which gives them an outside chance of avoiding relegation. Rachel Benning and Carol Drummond were the match winning couple with 29 games.

Keyworth completed their fixtures with an away win against Lady Bay ‘A’ in division 4, to head the table. Karen Monk and Danielle Burrows were the top couple with 30 games. Lady Bay faired much better in their next match, with a comfortable home win against Magdala ‘A’, where Ann Pullan and Margaret Hildreth were in top form, winning 32 games. East Bridgford consolidated their second place with an away win at Newark. Rosie Watkins and Peggy Deller were the top couple with 29 games.

The Park maintained their unbeaten run in division 5B, with consecutive wins against Retford and Farnsfield ‘A’, where Jean Blake and Gillian Webster were the dominant couple in both matches with 28 and 35 games respectively. In the battle at the bottom of the table Musters ‘B’ overcame East Bridgford ‘A’, to give themselves every chance of survival in this division. Lisa Harrold and Rachel Whitehead were the top couple with 32 games. Farnsfield ‘A’ moved into third place after beating Mansfield ‘A’. Lesley Healey and Shelagh Mitchell were dominant winning 28 games.

Burton Joyce ‘A’, the division 6 leaders completed their fixtures with a narrow loss to third placed Lady Bay ‘B’, who are still unbeaten. Newark ‘A’ completed their fixtures in division 6B, with a comfortable away win against Upper Saxondale. Sue Tomblin and Jacqui Woodhall were the top couple with 27 games. Eastwood moved into second place behind Newark ‘A’, and remain unbeaten following a home win against Southwell ‘A’.
