Notts County Junior, 12 year old Millie-Mae Matthews, was invited by LTA business partner, Aegon, for a day with the Davis Cup team at Birmingham. Millie is part of the Aegon Future Stars program and the day involved a behind the scenes tour of team changing rooms, doctor and Physio facilities followed by a media interview with Davis Cup captain, Leon Smith. Smith commented that ‘Millie has a future in TV interviewing’ ! Finally, Millie-Mae spent 15 minutes on court with Andy Murray and Kyle Edmund - a memory she will treasure forever.
At 12 & Under, Millie is currently ranked Nationally No 9 and Regionally No 1 and County No 1. Last year, Millie- Mae was the winner in the Wirral Grade 3, runner-up for her School in the National Finals, winner Grade 3 Hull, Main Draw Orange Bowl Florida, winner Grade 3 Nottingham, winner 12 & U and 14 & U at the County Closed as well as Girls 14 & U Doubles winner, winner Grade 3 Loughborough, winner Grade 2 Bath as well as winning the Grade 2 Scottish Junior Open.
