Caunton Tennis Club held their Open Day on Sat 14th May as part of the National LTA Great British Tennis Day promotion.
Their four fully-qualified coaches were on hand to give all their visitors of all ages a fun session of tennis including the energetic Cardio work out.
The lovely weather brought out many families to try out the facilities and many took advantage of the club's special membership offer of an 8-week membership which includes 6 weeks free coaching.
The Open Day was followed by the Quorn Family Cup where an adult family members plays alongside their partners of 10yrs or less on a small mini tennis court and using sponge balls.
A total of 10 pairs competed for the chance to play at the Nottingham Tennis Centre during the WTA Nottingham Open in June against other winners from the region. It turned out to be a total family affair as the winners were mother and daughter , Alison and Kiera Mackender, closely followed by the runners up of father and son , Bob and Joshua Mackender!
