Eddie Fox from West Bridgford Tennis Club captained the O65 Mens England team when they played in the Four Nations 2016 in Wrexham.
Attached a team photo of the three men's teams (O55; O60 andO65). Eddie (back right) is standing next to David Brown, former Notts & Woodthorpe player, who played in the 55 team. He now lives in Harrogate and plays for Yorkshire but is reserve for the GB 55s team.
The event was hosted by the Welsh in Wrexham. England were the overall winners and Eddie captained the 65 team which had two 3-0 victories against the the Welsh and the Irish and a 2-1 victory against the Scots. The matches were all very close and England won 6 very nervy and close championship tie breaks out of 9 matches losing just 1 as well as winning 3 other tie breaks. The matches were played in great spirit and were very competitive reflected by the fact that the Scots, the strongest team on paper, losing all their matches 2-1 and finishing last in the 65 age group. The other team members were John Spratt from Oxfordshire & Paul Denyer from Wiltshire. Paul, the reserve, was called up the day before the start due to an injury to Brian Snapesfox from Surrey.
