The final day was against Northamptonshire. The was a problem as Ellie was suffering with a nasty blister under her foot, she did try to play, but I asked for her to retire in the fourth game, she was unable to play the doubles. Jessica had a great match against Elita Silins, who she had never beaten. She lost the first set 3-6, won the second on a set tie-break, and the after some great tennis lost on another set tie-break. Olivia played well to win her singles in two sets, it was a long match, with her winning in the set tie-break. Isabella also had a great match winning easily the first set, the second was a fight but she did it also in two sets. This score allowed to go into the doubles at 2-2. Jessica and Olivia played well, they won the first set 6-3, lost the second, and in a close well fought match tie-break lost 9-11. We also lost the second singles.

It was a windy, cold three days, the girls played very well as a team, kept their heads up despite defeat – well done.
My thanks go to Jayne Spencer as my helper over the weekend and to the parents who came to support.
