Several Notts players were accepted into the National standard Grade2 tournament held at Nottingham Tennis Centre over the Easter holidays.
In the 16 and under girls’ singles unseeded Millie-Mae Matthews won through three rounds to get to the semi-final, losing to Arabella Moen 6-4 7-6 and Amelia Rajecki beat the number 4 seed 6-4 6-4 and reached the quarter finals also losing to Arabella Moen 6-4 7-5
Phoenix Weir was granted a wild card entry into the 12 & under boys’ singles & won through two rounds to reach the last 16.
Anna Buckley won through one match & was then beaten by the number 5 seed in the 16 & under girls’ singles.
Daniel Wright lost in the first round but played in the 12 & under boys consolation reaching the semi-final losing to the eventual winner Sean Neveling 6-2 6-2.
Millie-Mae Matthews & her partner Natalya Ogunwale beat the number 1 seeds in the 14 & under girls’ doubles. They went on to reach the final losing to unseeded pair Smith & Tyler in a third set tie break 10-8.
