Eight Notts primary schools took part in the Year 3 & 4 schools tennis finals of the Nottinghamshire Schools Games last Friday at the Nottingham University Sports Centre. The eight teams were the winners of their distrtict competitions.
Final Results:-
1st place – Lady Bay Primary – Rushcliffe District
2nd – Underwood School – Ashfield
3rd – Dunkirk School – City
Underwood School, winners for the past two years, were beaten into second place by Lady Bay. The final was 2-2 in rubbers and the resulting points countback saw Lady Bay win by 3 points!
So after 16 matches, 64 rubbers, 1109 points played and the final came down to just 3 points!!!

The event went really smoothly with the help of the nine leaders from Ashfield District.
Two of the young players had a game against Jason Gardner, Gold Medallist in the 4 x 100m Athens 2004, and Charlotte Henshaw, Silver medal Breaststroke (SB6) Paralympic Games London 2012
