Nottinghamshire Junior County Championships 2017
Held at the County Ground in the Park Estate.

12yr old Eva Shaw from Edwalton won two singles titles at last week’s Nottinghamshire Junior County Championships tennis tournament, beating Olivia Corfe from Farnsfield 6-2 6-0 in the under 14 girls’ singles final & Jessica Spencer from West Bridgford 6-0 6-1 in the under 16 girls’ singles final. Eva, who trains at Nottingham Tennis Centre, recently won the U12 National singles title. She also teamed up with Millie Wileman to win the under 14 girls doubles final and Phoenix Weir to win the under 14 mixed doubles final.
Gabriel Johnson also won two singles titles beating Joel Hemmings in the under 16 boys’ singles final & James Wood in the under 18 boys’ singles final. Gabriel, who trains at David Lloyd Aspley and is coached by his father Gavin, also reached two doubles finals.
In the mini tennis section of the tournament, Mia Wainwright won the under 10 girls singles title and Indy Weir beat Hugo Dunn in the under 10 boys’ singles final. They then teamed up together to win the under 10 doubles title. Jasper Riley won the under 9 singles title & the under 9 doubles with Charlie Brown. The under 8 singles final was won by Benjamin Phillips.
The trophies were presented by Nottinghamshire LTA president Chris Walker and the event was sponsored by John Pye Auctions.
