Local residents came in their hundreds to the Picnic in the Park event celebrating 50 years of Clifton playing Fields. Well over 200 people of all ages came to take part on the Mini Tennis courts as well as the inflatable activity zones run by Cross Sports. There was a real interest in tennis and many families expressed a genuine desire to get tennis going on a regular basis on the site which boasts 8 courts. ‘It was fantastic to see so many people giving it a go, many of them for the first time. Today really showcased tennis as a sport for all ages and one that the family can all play together.’ It was a pleasure to have a visit from Councillor Ian Malcolm, Clifton South Ward Councillor and Sheriff of Nottingham, who showed a genuine interest in the game.
