Ladies 20th August

Ilkeston ladies won a close fought home match against Magdala where Sarah Wright and Julie Griffiths were the dominant couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 8 games. A few days later, Ilkeston travelled to David Lloyd Nottingham, where they won an even tighter match, to maintain their unbeaten run, and move into second place in division 1. West Bridgford moved to the top, following a comprehensive away win at Mansfield, where Elaine Masters and Margaret Fincham were the top couple with 6 sets.

West Bridgford ‘A’ had a good home win against Musters, who were previously unbeaten in division 2. Kathryn Hales and Eleanor Hawketts were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of 10 games. West Bridgford are now in second place behind David Lloyd West Bridgford.

David Lloyd West Bridgford ‘A’ completed their fixtures with a draw at Attenborough and remain at the top of division 3. Dawn Mumby and Liz Hart from Attenborough were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of 11 games. Caunton won a mid table battle against Retford where Maggie Severn and Eleanor Johnson won 4 sets, which was matched by Debbie Fenton and Rosanne Marks.

In division 4A, Magdala ‘B’ had a comfortable home win against Attenborough ‘A’, where Stephanie Meins and Jane Hall were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 6 games. Eliza Davidson in here first full season, partnered Deborah Turner to win 4 sets. In division 4B, Caunton won a very close home match against second placed Musters ‘A’, where Liz Banks and Rosie Hunt were the top couple with 4 sets. Wollaton eased their relegation worries a little with a home win against the bottom team East Bridgford ‘A’, where Yasmin Parratt and Anita Bradley were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of 10 games.

Mansfield ‘A’ moved into second place in division 5A, following a convincing home win against third placed Eastwood. Jan Hodgetts and Sue Barker were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 4 games. Sally Beeley and Paula Coleman also took the maximum sets for the loss of 7 games.
