In July the final GBTW event of the year took place at Nottingham Tennis Centre. The event coincided with major events such as Wimbledon and the WTA Open Nottingham which meant interest was high in both events.
The events were free for everyone to attend with activities provided such as free adult coaching, Mini Tennis, teen tennis with our expert coaching team and free play on the courts. There were prize giveaways plus fantastic opportunities to continue playing at the Centre.
Nottingham Tennis Centre was keen to continue with the tradition of breaking down barriers and the middleclass perception tennis often brings by offering opportunities outside regular coaching sessions. All participants who decided to join the programme left on the day with a free tennis racket ensuring equipment was not the reason to join in.
There were over 70 attendees who attended over the two GBTW with over half of them deciding to continue playing on the programme regularly.
