Men’s Winter League

Mapperley Park’s march to the men’s first division title stalled, when they lost a very tight home match to Magdala, thanks mainly to a dominant performance from Mike Bottomley and Peter Kirton, with 30 games. Magdala then stumbled in their final match of the season, losing a close home match to Musters, who move up to second place. Chris Dexter and Andy Vernon were the top couple with 23 games. West Bridgford sealed David Lloyd West Bridgford’s miserable season with a comfortable away win. Ross Savage and Ben Rookes won 29 games which was matched by Matt Whitehead and Andy Wood.

Woodthorpe ‘A’ completed their fixtures in division 3, with a home win against West Bridgford ‘B’ to move to the top of the table, but Wollaton, Keyworth or Magdala ‘A’, with matches remaining could overtake them.

Farnsfield ‘A’ retained their unbeaten run at the top of division 4A, following a good away win against Mansfield ‘A’, where the father and son pairing of Richard and Ashley Dickens were the top couple with 23 games.

In division 4B, Musters ‘A’ also maintained their unbeaten run to almost secure promotion with a crushing away win against Caunton ‘A’, who are still to win a match. Dave Percival and Mike Clayton were unstoppable, with an impressive 34 games, for the loss of only 2.

Lady Bay ‘B’ secured the division 6A title, with one match still to play, following an away win against Keyworth ‘B’, with a good all round team performance.
