Subsequent to the appointment of Michael Downey as the new CEO at the LTA there has been a re-organisation of field team staff. This has led to the introduction of Regional Offices to replace County Offices. The two regional offices in the East Region (of which Essex is a part) will be based in Cambridge and High Wycombe.
During the last couple of months the LTA has been working on this reorganisation and consulting with current LTA employees about roles available in the region. Subsequent to this both Amanda and Helen have chosen not to apply for roles in the Cambridge and High Wycombe offices and will therefore unfortunately made redundant by the LTA.
The Essex office is currently manned by LTA employed staff (Amanda and Helen) and Essex Tennis employees (Brenda, Celine and Lynn) and as such the Essex County office will remain open and functional.
Currently and until Helen leaves in July the office opening hours will remain unchanged, however this may alter in the future as we reduce from 5 to 3 staff. We ask that you bear this in mind when you contact the office in the coming months. Any questions that you have should still be directed to the Essex office in the first instance who will aim to deal with the query in the event that this is not possible you will be directed to the Regional office at Cambridge or LTA Head office as appropriate.
We are pleased to say that Amanda has subsequently been offered new employment and as she has a weeks leave due she will cease her employment with the LTA tomorrow (Friday 9th May). For all of you that know Amanda you will understand that she will be a big loss to both the County and the LTA, and we wish her well in her new role. However we know that Amanda's ties to Essex Tennis are strong so I am sure that we wont lose her completely.
