An exciting new initiative from Seniors Tennis GB in association with the LTA has arisen which is designed to get more adults over 35 years old playing more tennis more often.
They would like to encourage more adults to take up tennis and clubs or facility's can claim up to £1000 in grant aid that will help you to develop your programmes.
It's very easy. Simply come up with a plan that focuses on encouraging take-up of tennis by adults over the age of 35 who are either entirely new to tennis or who have moved away from the game for various reasons.
Typical projects might include
Tennis Express
Touch Tennis
Weekend or midweek timed tournaments
Mums and kids combined sessions
Local company tournaments etc.
They are excited to hear any NEW ideas that you feel will work at your facility.
Simply outline your ideas, including proposed dates/times/places for the event proposed, participant numbers, organiser details etc, together with how you will measure the effectiveness of the programme afterwards.
(for example, you might measure the number of new members you manage to recruit to your facility as a direct result of the activity).
All you have to do is submit your ideas in no more than 200 words to STGB within six weeks of receipt of the email that was sent out to all Club Main Contacts by the Essex County Office last week and that's it!
If your plan is approved, you will be eligible for a minimum grant of at least £500, ranging up to a maximum £1000!
Good luck.
