A message from Katie:
I am running the London Marathon 2016 for Kings College Hospital in loving memory of Harri Varda.
Harri was a very happy, well loved and admired young boy, who adored sport, and played tennis at The Connaught Club, Chingford.
This is the tennis club where I grew up and trained competitively along with some of my closest friends and family.
Harri very suddenly passed away earlier this year, due to an AVM (brain vessel malfunction). 14 year old Harri went to bed as usual on Thurs 8th Jan and woke up with a headache the next morning, which was actually a massive brain haemorrhage. Despite surviving a long operation, he never woke up from his coma.
I am dedicating this run to Harri, and the amazing team at Kings College Hospital who did everything they possibly could to help Harri, and support Caroline, James, Daniel and the rest of his family.
This is something that is very close to my heart being a tennis player, and a story that I know will touch many of you, especially those that knew Harri and his family.
It would mean the absolute world if you could please help me in celebrating Harri’s life and the amazing team at Kings College Hospital, and make a donation towards my fund raising page
