This tournament was one of the biggest in Essex in terms of numbers of entries and in addition to the eleven courts at Woodford Wells the tournament also used courts at Chingford School of Tennis and at the indoor courts at Redbridge Sports Centre.
The home club was delighted that two of its young stars had a successful week. Anthony Wright (photo on front page) won the 12U singles and was runner up in the boys doubles. Alex Nakov reached the semi-finals in the 14U and 16U singles as well as winning the 14U doubles. Playing with Anthony Weingarten, Alex came third in the 18U doubles.
The tournament’s principal sponsor was The Holly private hospital and, in addition, many club members volunteered to help out in the kitchens and as court supervisors. The Club was delighted with the quality of the play and look forward to the thirty sixth event in 2017.
