The weekend of 27/28 June 2015 is one never to forget for all those at Thorpe Bay Lawn Tennis Club. The legend Mr. Nick Bollettieri was just truly inspirational for every single minute of the two days. He gave tips and coached players from U10 sessions to adults covering all age groups and even ran a coaches session, over 70 players were lucky enough to be involved in the sessions. Nick was on a headset and microphone so even those watching could benefit from the advice he was giving. His own desire and passion for the game was there for all to see. He teaches life skills and values to players that they will not only carry on to the tennis court but can continue to use in every day life.
Nick can spot what a player needs within a shot or two a truly awesome skill. He gave every single person his time and nothing was ever too much for him. Nick used a headset during the Coaching which gave those watching huge insight in to what he sees, how he feels and how to train a player. He is remarkable for his age and still had the energy for a game of golf after two full days of coaching. He was good at that too!.
Thorpe Bay Tennis Club were very lucky to have him and a big thank you must go to Royston Kimberly from UK Tennis Magazine BTCA who made the link possible with his and I connection, Royston has a fabulous relationship with Nick which is how it all began. It was something those that were involved in will hold in their memories and know he is looking forwards to doing it again next year. Thank you Nick it felt like I had two days of free mentoring.
