The entry for the Thorpe Bay Half Term Junior Tournament was again disappointing with no girls playing. The boys, however, were of a high standard. In the boys 10 & under the event was won by Charlie Kauders-Boothby (Hockley) beating Luke Gill (Billericay) No 1 seed in the final. This event was played in 3 groups where some of the games were very close, including one match where Charlie beat James Burrows (Thorpe Bay) by 1 point.
James Mcarthy (Westcliff Hardcourt) won the boys 12 & under comfortably beating Alex Matthews (Danbury) in the final. This was James’s first Grade 4 tournament win at full ball, since winning the Stellison’s tournament at a Mini Red Player.

The boys 14 & under was won by Robil Gebreslassie (Bromley) who beat local player Archie McAllister (Thorpe Bay) in an excellent final.
The matches of the day were in the 18 & under where the tennis was very competitive. The event was played as a round robin where Anthony Weingarten demolished Carl Coldo in the final without losing a game.
The event was organised and refereed by Lesley and Ian Pitt.
