We have been told the very sad news that Rod Petchey has passed away.
Rod will be remembered by all who knew him as an excellent sportsman and a fountain of knowledge in anything to do with Tennis, among other things.
He has been a member of the Connaught Club for over 60 years, played in numerous teams, including only a few weeks ago, the over 75 Essex team.
Rod also served on most Committees and along with Avril spent most of his spare time in helping to make the Club what it is today.
We have now been informed of arrangements as follows:
A memorial service will be held on Thursday 12th July at 3 pm at:
High Beach Church
Church Lane
High Beach
Loughton
IG10 4BF
Followed by a wake at the Connaught Club.
Everyone is invited to attend. Caroline would like those attending to wear whatever colour they feel comfortable in.
