This 3 hour course focuses on understanding the demands of a tennis match and offers insights and practical tips for coaches to use with players of all ages and standards. Delivered mostly on court, the day will include practical on court drills to use with players during coaching sessions.
About the presenters:
Alistair Higham is an international expert on match play and momentum in sport. His work on momentum includes advising professional tennis players, footballs teams, coaches, players and athletes. Author of two best selling books on momentum, his work is also showcased in sports exhibitions, the Wimbledon Museum and he presents on momentum at conferences across the world.
Ana Soares is a sport psychologist specialising in tennis. Her expertise in tennis has developed working full time in tennis in Portugal, Spain and now Great Britain. She spent six years as the full time resident Sports Psychologist for top Spanish tennis academy Barcelona Total Tennis (BTT), where she worked with professional players, including ATP top 40, and Spanish Davis Cup coaches. Having worked at the highest level, she has now taken her experience to Loughborough University to complete her PhD thesis on Momentum and Turning Points in tennis. She delivers a wide range of workshops on mental skills, tennis parenting and effective coaching skills both in the UK and internationally.
