Safeguarding - LTA Time to Listen Courses

In order to book onto the Time to Listen course, delegates must have a basic awareness of safeguarding and are therefore required to have completed a face to face LTA safeguarding workshop (or one approved by the LTA) within the last three years to book onto Time to Listen.

As part of the new LTA Venue Registration Minimum Standards from 1st October 2018, all venues must have a Welfare Officer who has:

Valid DBS (see following link to apply for a Volunteer DBS)

 Attended one of the following courses within the last three years: LTA Safeguarding and Protection in Tennis OR UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children OR Local Authority safeguarding training OR if you have completed another form of safeguarding training, or hold a professional safeguarding role (i.e. police, social care or designated safeguarding lead) please email safeandinclusive@lta.org.uk with the details for review.

 Within 2 years of completing the Level 1 Safeguarding course above, attend either LTA Time to Listen OR County Sports Partnership Time to Listen.

 The following LTA Time To Listen courses in the East Region are also now available to book onto – LTA tennis specific Time To Listen courses are free to attend (course fee refunded after attendance) although you can attend multi-sport Time To Listen Courses run by County Sports Partnerships but as these are external providers the course fees are not refundable.

The course will provide Welfare Officers with further knowledge and skills to help them proactively raise awareness of, and embed, safeguarding in their venue.  Attendees will also receive various information and resources which they can take back to their venue.
