An Ace World Record Attempt for Hospice
Epping TC has served up a £600 donation for Little Havens Hospice by attempting to smash a world record.
On Saturday 8th June, Epping Tennis Club’s Head Coach, David Watson, rallied almost 200 people to the club in an attempt to break the World Record for the most number of people being coached over a half hour period. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to break the record which stands at 250 but the families taking part had a great time playing tennis and between them raised nearly £600 for Little Havens Hospice, the charity which cares for children from across Essex with a life-limiting illness.
David said, “It was a really great afternoon, loads of families turned up to take part and everyone had fun. I wanted to raise cash for the hospice which is close to my heart. They look after seriously ill children from all over Essex and this was a way I could do my bit. At first I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t break the record, but it was such a lovely afternoon, it has just spurred me on to doing another event!”
Little Havens Hospice is part of Havens Hospices. The charity is not part of the NHS and receives limited government funding and only exists because of the support and generosity of the community.
