The second Redbridge Sports Centre Junior Weekend Tournament took place on the weekend of the 18th/19th May. Once again the weather was kind on both days. 173 players entered with 51 withdrawing. The remaining 122 players all competed on the Saturday where 102 games were played.
The 12 & under girls event was dominated by 2 green players where Arabella Moen (David Lloyd Basildon) played brilliantly all through the tournament beating Abigail Michelow (Virgin Active Clearview) in the final. At the other end of the scale in the 18 & under Corey Clark (Avenue) just beat Harry Melluish (Harlow) in a closely contested final.
The only other Essex player to win an event was Ajay Modhwadia (Virgin Active Clearview) who played well all through the tournament beating Nicholas Adesalu (Sutton) in convincing style.
