It has been 23 yeas since Essex Men were Winter County Champions. 18 of those years were under the leadership of Jamie Willson who took over the captaincy in 2000. He put in so much work during that time to create a team that could be national champions. In the last two years Essex Men hav finished second in four consecutive competitions, summer and winter each time getting closer to that elusive national title. Jamie passed away in September. He is missed by us all but every member of our Essex Mens team were committed to coming back to play this winter in his honour, three members of the squad flying back from the USA to do everything they could to win it for Jamie. And they did, today they are National Champions. The team are: Tom Higgins (Captain), Simon Harston, Ryan Peniston, Henry Patten, Rob Carter, Marshall Tutu, Richard Wire, David Wright, Joel Cannell, Alex Groves, Cam Isbell. Well done to them all you did us proud, now on to Summer County Week 2019!
