The first of the Essex Winter Indoor Tournaments 16 & under took place at David Lloyd Gidea Park on the 1st November. As designated by the LTA the new format “First 4 Tennis “ was used. It was disliked by the players ,organisers and referees.
The standard of tennis was good with Alex Nakov from Woodford Wells Tennis Club winning the event by the closest of margins.a sudden death final point in the 3rd set tie break.
Isabella Farquhar from Hutton & Shenfield Tennis Club lost an excellent final to Lydia Sivirentsava from Cambridge.
