Blackmore Tennis Club was started in 1987 by three keen tennis players in the small village of Blackmore near Chipping Ongar. The club has just 2 courts but fabulous sports and social club facilities . For a small club it has now evolved to run 3 mens teams, one mixed team and one ladies team in the local tennis leagues - Brentwood & District Summer league and Stock Winter League.
2012 marks the clubs 25th anniversary and a party is being held on 13 October at Blackmore Village Hall to celebrate. Bill Gray one of it’s founder members is still an active playing member of the club and has made a massive contribution to the club throughout its 25 years. The club has benefited from a number of coaches over its time and many young people hit their first few tennis balls at Blackmore. Our current Coach is Scott Porter who runs the junior coaching section on Saturdays. A ladies morning runs on Mondays with coach Martyn Davies.
