Frinton Lawn Tennis Club celebrated the opening of their new floodlit hard court complex on Tuesday 17th September. Their guest of honour Elena Baltacha cut the ribbon and then had a hit with 25 of the clubs juniors who had special permission from their schools to take an extended lunch break in order to join in the occasion. Also present was Cathie Sabin the LTA President Elect who had come directly from The Davis Cup in Slovenia to be there. The launch day was part of a busy week for the club who were represented at the Youth Action Day the previous Saturday which saw over 4000 youngsters sample over 50 local sports clubs activities. It culminated on an Open day at the club where over 50 new members joined up. The Club is keen to welcome visitors from other Essex tennis clubs who may wish to sample the delights of our grass courts in the summer and these can be arranged by ringing Maria in the office on 01255 674055.
