The players enjoyed tennis and superb facilities at the Club. Unfortunatgely, the weather was not kind and the indoor facilities were put to full use. Our thanks go to Emily De’ath, DLGP General Manager and her staff, who looked after everyone very well.

Entries this year, were on a par with last year and this year there was one girl’s event. Eight girls played a compass draw, where each player had 3 matches. Holly Lawrence (Cranbrook Castle), No 1 seed beat Alina Schumacher (Redbridge TC), No 2 seed in a close, exciting final.
In the 12 and under event, Jacob Smith (Chelmsfordians), lost a very close match to Zac Radziwillowicz (The Riverside Chiswick).
In the 14 and under boy’s event, last year’s losing finalist, Matthew Doe (Great Baddow), continued his fine form of the summer, to win the event, only losing 5 games
Losing finalist from last year, James Sammons (Gidea Park), No 8 seed, this year went one better to win the 16 and under event. He beat the No 3 and No 4 in the last two rounds.
William Butler (The Connaught) Club beat Neo Wren (Gidea Park), the number 2 seed in the semi-finals and then went on the beat Ajay Modhwadia (Virgin Active Clearview) in a close final of the 18 and under event.
In the Men’s event, Abdul Ahmed (Redbridge TC) beat the No 1 and No 3 seeds on the way to the final. There he came up against Nicholas Adesalli (Sutton Tennis Academy), the No 2 seed who beat Abdul in two close sets.
In the Ladies event, Tyra-Nicole White (Woodford Wells) beat No 1 seed Emily Watts (Westcliff Hardcourt LTC) in a close three set final.
