Another good finals day at Redbridge Sports and Leisure which saw Westcliff Hard’s Matthew Pearce take the open men’s singles title beating Steve Russell of Redbridge. Matthew also successfully defended the open men’s doubles with his partner Tom Perry of Spring Lane, this time beating Steve Russell and Nigel Parsons.
Steve Russell won his 4th men’s singles over 35 in a row, this time by defeating Westcliff Hard’s Jason Watkins.
Solange Roast of Clearview did the double by once again winning the mixed doubles over 35 with her partner Stuart Cumming, this now being the 4th time in a row, by again defeating Paul Lansley of David Lloyd Basildon and Denise Downey of Grove.
New entrant Lucy King won the open mixed doubles event with partner Andrew Knights, both from The Essex, defeating the regular pairing of Lee Duncan and Faye Dixey from Cranston Park. Andrew also managed the double with partner Pierre Smith by defeating Peter Mott (Epping) and Peter Burgess (Drummond) in a long close final.
Our thanks go to Redbridge Sports and Leisure and to John Tucker, President of the ECLTA, who kindly presented the trophiesf
