The Olympic and Paralympic Games have been a great success not only for London but the whole of the country. Many new world records have been set and many new friends made, both in the Olympic Park and on the world sporting stage. Here are a few memories from some of our Essex volunteers and staff on their memorable time in 2012!
Lynn O Brien, Executive Officer in the Essex County Office volunteered to become a Games Maker:
In July 2005 I was at work at Redbridge when it was announced that the 2012 Olympic Games were awarded to London....at this point being an East London girl I decided that I really wanted to be a part of the games, and since there are no veterans events volunteering was the best option!

Jos, aged 12, won a competition at his school, Les, aged 12 and a bit more, was nominated by his son for his community work in Abridge and at Theydon Bois LTC
